Integrating a house rabbit and bengal kitten.

Hi, I am looking for some advice on integrating a 1year old house rabbit (has free run of the house but goes in a cage at night) and a bengal kitten. I have been told that as long as they are around each other enough they will get along fine but I was just wondering if anybody else has managed to successfully (or unsuccessfully) get them to be friends.

I guess they might get along especially as the newcomer is the kitten and the rabbit is adult, but you'll have to be careful...

I own chipmunks and I know it would be a desperate cause trying to get them together :lol:

(when I open the door of the room they're in, I ear a "tap tap tap" and here comes Chaos running, stopping in front of the cage and making excited chirping noises and twitching his tail :roll:

). But they once met a rabbit (in a cage) and they were curious but also afraid, they would jump back if it came too close :lol:

so I guess with a rabbit it's possible...

Hi, thanks for the reply. I keep reading things that say they will be ok (http://www.rabbit.org/journal/2-11/cats ... bbits.html) and the rabbit is quite big so I think the kitten will be scared at first but how long this lasts is another issue.

I thought I was the only one to be crazy enough to have a house bunny and a bengal. Simba was scared of Pedro bunny at first then mean. Now it seems that they are truly in love with each other. Simba bats at him and runs away enticing him to chase after her, which he does every time. And Pedro stomps his foot and bites her back end to try to mate with her. She obliges, and its a terrible sight to see, but they never consumate the relationship if you know what I mean.
Simba grabs him and bites him softly into submission so she can clean him on his head and between his ears. So adorable.

My parents Himalayan cat got on really well with their rabbit - they'd curl up together. But she's a lot less active than a Bengal! I think if you just take it slowly it'll be OK, but if your bunny is a male, I'd suggest getting him neutered. Our male rabbits used to try to *ahem* get intimate *ahem* with anything they could.... *ahem*

Your bunny is gorgeous, I should add!

Ren, I didn't know you had a lorikeet! They're native/wild here in Australia, and they're just beautiful! They don't yell "fire!" though!
