Hi everyone

I'm new on here and wanted to introduce myself and my gang before I begin posting.

My first Bengal comes home in December and I feel very excited about this. The breeder seems a lovely and knowledgeable lady so I know I've made the right choice going to her.

Do any of you have any first week tips?

P.S I also have to introduce her to my two dogs. Arghhhh! I feel nervous!

Best Wishes

Nifa

hi nifa! welcome to our world!

first week tips...erm, bomb proof the place?

lol, no, seriously the best thing is to start him/her off in a small room til they get settled & accept ypu, then gradual surpervised introductions to the dogs over the next couple of weeks. best not to rush it & it should go fine...they tend to be quite brave for their size!

look forward to seeing pics when your little one arrives.

Thanks for the tips, Bundles. I've set a room aside with kitten paraphenalia in it for her to hopefully settle in before "the introduction."

I'll be sure to take lots of snaps of her. She seems quite a confident and sassy kitten so I think once she's settled into her surroundings, she'll be tormenting the dogs at her whim. 8)

Congrats on your first Bengal!! You will love having a Bengal. :D
Go slow and be patient with the introductions and they will be fine. Before you introduce them, I would make sure the kitty's claws are clipped. I am sure there will be a little swatting going on.

Make sure to post pictures!!

Welcome aboard,
Carol

Hi Nifa

We had to introduce our cats to the dogs and hopefully yours will get on as well as ours.

We found the best way was to let the kitten have roam of a lot of the house so it could look around and feel comfortable. After about a week we brought in one dog at a time (only for about 5 mins to start with) so that the cat could suss the dog out in its own time. You will find by the time they are fully introduced your cat will rule the roost.

Good Luck

Theresa

Hi nifa, welcome to the wonderful world of Bengals. :D
Bet you can't wait!

I'd agree with everyone else, introduce them all slowly, and they should all get along fine!

Well I have my little beauty home now so I'll be posting up in the other sections. I'll give her a couple more days before I give her retina damage with all the photos I plan on taking!
