Hello to all!
Let me introduce myself, I'm Julie, still on the good side of 30 (for the next few months anyway!), married with 3 kids. We're from the UK but are now living in France on the border with Geneva, Switzerland (we both work in Geneva).
All of us are cat lovers. I had a lovely moggy growing up who "adopted" us. I found her one day in the garden, she followed me into the house and never left. She was already in early pregnancy and later delivered 4 beautiful kittens who we rehomed to friends and colleagues of my parents (and got her spayed fast!).
As a teenager, we were again "adopted" by our neighbours' Burmese - they never gave her any attention and left her out all the time
She used to virtually live with us and was such a good friend to me in my teenage years.
I have known about Bengals for ages. In the 90s, a friend of mine from school had a Bengal, and I swore that when I settled down, I would own a Bengal.
Luckily I married a cat lover, and following the recent purchase of our apartment, we felt the time was right to bring a Bengal into our family.
After several months of research, we idinteified the breerder we were most interested in, and after some weeks of e-mails and phone calls, yesterday was the big day of the visit!
It was so exciting to see such beautiful cats! It was not difficult to choose, as actually, the kitten chose us, so here he is, our silver marble boy:
Sahpirs de Lune Cougar's Silver Circle (known as Circle)
The photo is pretty poor. He was born 25 July 2007, a litter of 4 that was exceptional both in quality and character, so the breeder kept them all for starters before deciding which 2 to keep (she said it was so hard!). Circle is lovely, he has a wonderful character, very gentle and loving (we had wonderful cuddles with him), he never puts out a claw, and he just stole our hearts.
He is being neutered and we will pick him up in early January as we are going on holiday at Christmas. The breeder was really choosy about who she wanted him to go to. He has been shown a couple of times already with excellent results. She really wanted him to go to a loving family home who would show him a little bit too, something we are very keen to do to if not very nervous about. I'm sure we will be asking loads of questions.
Sorry for going on so long, looking forward to getting to know everyone!
Julie
