Yup I must agree with locokitty on this one.....If you have the space for a big enclosure and the animal has been or is a part of a legitimate breeding program I wouldn't have a problem with owning one!
I know it's a wild animal and really they should be kept in their natural habitat.....But just think what would happen if people didn't hybridise ALC's......We wouldn't have any spotty bellies curled up on our beds at night with us.
To keep a Serval, Ocelot or ALC in the u.k you need to have special licences and your premises and enclosure would have to be something special just to pass the minium requirements aswell as being inspected on a regular basis to ensure the animals welfare and the saftey of the public.....so that rules them out for most people to own just as pets in this country.....just for financial reasons alone
In fact to own or be owned by an ALC is one of our goals in life.....It may take a couple of years so watch this space!
