Late night phone call

Hubby had to rush the hospital early hour this morning as his mum was rushed in,she has water on her lungs,She is 80 and last year she had double pnemonia,she is also bleeding from the stomach but they can't put a camera through her untill they sort her breathing out,she has suffered from astma all her life.Four out of seven here have fluey syptoms so we don't want to pass anything on to her. I lost my mum on valentines day this year from a heart attack.We just don't seem to be having any luck the past few years, one thing after another.

My brother is at the hospital too today, for appendicitis...

Hi Caroline,

I'm so sorry to hear about your family's problems. I lost my stepdad suddenly in the summer (he was a real friend, had been married to my mum since I was 18 so I'd known him for over 20 years) and my mum's now battling cancer for a second time. It's horrible and I know exactly how you are feeling. It really makes you appreciate life and the people around you though - and I of course include my boys in that - they were little stars given that we had to abandon them (not literally, they were well looked after while we were away!) - and they seemed to sense how sad I was, bless them :-)

My thoughts are with you,

I lost my Mum only 3 weeks ago. I Know how hard it is; she was my best friend too. I know how it feels to be truly 'heartbroken' now. My beautiful daughters and wonderful spotty mini fur-people are my strength thank goodness
