Or, point the camera slightly off centre from the cat - if you're head on, the flash will always reflect off their eyes.

Don't use the flash but daylight, and if you have to, you can try using a diffuser

.

These are Lumiquest, not cheap but you can find them cheaper on ebay apparently (*must buy one too*).

This is good advice.. I know I have issues with that as well and most of the time you can't tell my little guy has a pale shade of green eyes.

I took your advice, and this is how my Yuki came out- kind of dark...I think I just don't have a very good camera!
