We just picked up Rooni and Rewski Saturday.. They are 13 weeks old and are half sisters born 2 days apart. They are settling in pretty well. Rooni is very brave and is eager to explore the house and has even started trying to follow me around and get in my lap a little. She is very hyper and playful and funny to watch! Rewski is a bit more timid. She will come out and explore and play but is a little hesitant to be picked up. Once I get her she purrs like crazy. We have our bathroom set up as their "safe place". She does a bit better being held in there and will sit in my lap. I am hoping that with time she will grow out of this. They are really cute with their exploring. If they get too far apart they call for each other.
The breeder gave us a blanket that they had been sleeping on to help them transition to their new home. It is in their carrier and that is where they have been sleeping. I am wondering when I should remove the carrier. I have a bed for them and was thinking of putting the blanket on it and taking the carrier away. I have also put one of my t shirts in there to help them get used to me. Is it too soon to take away the carrier?
Also, about Da Bird. They LOVE it but have destroyed all but 2 feathers on it in 2 days!
Am I in for a lifetime of weekly replacements or did I maybe just get one that wasn't the best quality? I'm not sure I can afford $5 a week on feathers!
I will attempt to post pics but not sure if I know how!
