I took my Bengal cat to the vets last night to have her booster injection. The vet listened to her chest and said he could hear that she had a heart murmur although its only very slight. I'm really worried as I cant seem to find much about it on the internet and I dont know if this is a serious problem or not. Please advise....

When we first took our bengal, also named Stella, to the vet she was diagnosed with a stage 2 heart murmur. The vet told us he wanted to check her again in a couple of months because some kittens are born with it and grow out of it. We informed our breeder and she said her vet never noticed a heart murmur, but she also said they can grow out of it. We haven't taken Stella in for a follow up on it yet, but I think we're approaching 2 months in a couple weeks. I'll let you know how her next visit goes.

Tilly is 18 months old now and the vet said he was surprised it hadnt been picked up when she was a kitten (well, it may have been and just not passed on to her former owner). She is due for her other injection in a couple of weeks, so I will ask the vet a bit more about it this time. Thanks for your reply and hope its good news for Stella xx.
