Hi!
I realized the last couple of days Cash got a swollen stomach. When I first saw it I thought he was growing, as in bigger all around. But last night he could not even climb his cat tree and he has been laying down or sitting down. Of course I went online and saw a lot of scary things it might be (like FIP). Just called to make their earliest appt. Taking him to the vet at 9:30. Has any of your babies had this before?

I haven't had any experience of anything like this but you're right to take him to the vet. I hope it's nothing serious and they're able to put your mind at rest.

Thank you Ginny!

Yeah I am hoping it is not anything deadly either. Something that can be curable. It is just sooo sad that he is like this right now. Wish him luck! he sees the vet in less than an hour

have you wormed him recently and if so when and what did you use? definitely get a vet check if you're worried though!

Thank you guys for your support. :)
Just got home and really did not get an answer.

SYMPTOMS:
Belly bigger than normal.
Seems to be eating fine and goes to the bathroom
Threw up 3 times in the last month and half (every 2 weeks or so)

Last night-Cannot climb up his cat tree or anything high for that matter struggles with his back end
Da bird- he lets it come to him instead of chasing it.
Also sitting and laying a lot. When he walks he kinda looks hunched
Not like himself

Did an ultrasound to see if it was fluid. Nothing
They got a stool sample too...waiting.
Night have to do blood work....
She thinks he is fine because he is eating and looked normal

But we beg to differ. I wish we had an answer now but hopefully the stool samples will help.

Might go to another vet if she says everything is okay

Kind of surprised they didn't do blood work since he was there in case of some type of infection. Reassuring that the ultrasound didn't show fluid...but it must be SO frustrating to not have any answers. Let's hope he snuck and ate a bug or something and has a very easily treatable parasite. Hugs to you and kissies to Cash!

Frustrating that you don't have any answers but diagnosis is often a case of ruling things out rather than knowing immediately what's wrong. It's good that the ultrasound showed no fluid and I think the fact that they did that on the first visit is a sign that the vet is taking you seriously. As Steph suggested a bit earlier, have you treated him for worms?

Keep a close eye on him and write down any things that you think are abnormal for him. If he throws up again, make a note of what it looked like and keep an eye on his stools to see what they're like and if they change at all. Any clues you can pick up will help the vet reach a diagnosis. Don't be worried about going back if you're still concerned, even if the stool results aren't back.

Keep us updated and fingers crossed Cash is feeling better soon.

This doesn't sound good, I would take him back to the vet.
