Hi people,

I know Samsung isnt a Bengal but I can't think of anywhere else to post this...

Samsung is a 13wk old Siamese and he has always eaten loads and regularly. Since Sadie was put to sleep, he is eating/drinking barely anything. We've tried wet and dry food as well as some meat - nothing takes his fancy.
He's playful and noisy - like a normal kitten but he just won't eat.

Does anyone know how best to get him eating? My wife is making him scrambled egg as we speak as we were told this might help.

I am sure he is missing Sadie and isn't eating because of that. He was at the vets a week ago and had a check over.

Prawns? Cats go mental for them, I would be surprised if he turned his nose up at them....

I feel that Samsung is probably stressed through Sadie leaving so abruptly. One of my bengals escaped last year and was hit by a car. The other bengal cat I have, not quite 12 months became depressed, didnt play much and ate less for a couple of weeks. I gave her lots of attention, cuddles and reassurance. After all the cat we lost was her 'best friend', sleeping companion, playmate and everything. My oldest cat, who is not a pedigree also went off her food a bit. They got back to normal ok. In your case, Id say to give him something really nice that he likes. My girls love turkey :)

Keep an eye on him, and if it goes on ask the vet.

Just thought I would update you.
Samsung is eating and is looking really well. He was missing Sadie and we 'borrowed' a cat which gave him competition to eat, so he started eating again.

We've returned the 'borrowed' cat and for the last week, Samsung has been eating great guns! He's got his weight back and is back to his normal, crazy self!

Hi James,

Well done! Ingenious to borrow one rather than to get another permanent one. I'm glad Samsung is back to his normal self.

We were considering getting another Bengal but we've fallen in love with a Devon Rex. Gotta wait a few months for them to be baked :D
