In the process of getting my daughter out of the bathtub, dressed, and into bed, we left the water in our bathtub for a few minutes. In that span of time Zoey managed to fall into the tub and had to be rescued by my wife.

We managed to wrap her up in a towel and dry her off...somewhat...after chasing the sopping wet furball all over the second floor of our house. However, being a four-month-old kitten, sitting on someone's lap wrapped up in a towel isn't her idea of a good time and she soon ran off to play with a wet belly, legs and tail. A few minutes later, she was back around us sitting on the vinyl kitchen floor and shivering. I picked her up to try and get her warm, but that didn't last a minute before play became more important.

Here in the Mid-Western US, it has been pretty cold and our house stays rather cool. Do we need to worry about her catching a cold, or are they pretty hearty in that regard? She seems fine now, but we are keeping an eye on her.

It's not being cold that makes us (or cats) catch a cold, it's germs, so unless she's been outside whilst wet and come back in to a boiling hot house (which germs favour) then I'm sure she'll be fine.

Ideally a cat should be dried off as much as possible (easier said than done I know!) so they can warm themselves up again, as being without their warm layer of fur is like us being in our underwear.
