Hi to all,

I am a little concerned, Diego has been sneezing now for about 2 weeks,
He's not ill, he is still full of beans, he's still got an appetite bigger than him,
doing all the normal things  he just keeps sneezing, he dosent have a runny nose or mucky eyes.
Is it possible he is having a reaction to the wood chip litter, could it be plug
in air freshners, as i have put one in the lounge?

What do you guys think, any suggestions please.

Nikki

How often does he do it?

We have phases of sneezing and coughing, sounds awful, but guess it's just hairballs getting in the way....

A few mins, 10 at the most.

Quite often it's after they've been drinking from the water fountain, so probably got some water down the wrong hole

If hes doing it quite often take him for a check-up at the vets, He may have a little infection!

He could be just reacting to changes in the weather or something in the house.

Two weeks sounds a long time to be sneezing tho......the problem isn't with the visual signs, its more to do with secondary respiratory infections that may flare-up due to his immune system already being low with him having a possible cold. The vet will no doubt just give him some anti-biotics to compensate.

He'll be fine but do a google search on " upper respiratory infection (URI)" for more info on the subject, It's a common topic on many cat forums and anti-biotics are just a precautionary measure just to help out so don't panic about him.

Chances are that he will fight it off himself.....but better safe than sorry tho IMO!

Since changing the litter from wood pellet to worlds best Diego has stopped
sneezing, so i guess he was allergic to wood pellet :?
