HCM - Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy is a disease that is common in a lot of animal species, including humans.
It is common in all breeds of cat and more recently has found to be common in Bengal cats. It is an inherited disease.
Some more links:-
The International Bengal Cat Society has funded research into HCM in Bengals in order to find a blood test to identify the gene that is causing the disease in Bengals.

Also the very good link on HCM given to you by Katie on the FAB website.
If you Google feline HCM or hypertrophic cardiomyopathy you will fnd a lot of info on the disease. A lot of research has been done in Maine Coons and Ragdolls as they were the first breeds to do anything about the disease, (those breeds actually have blood tests available to find the gene responsible in their breed) most of the info on the disease applies to Bengals also.
