I've had a quick look through the forum as I don't wish to be annoying and post a common topic but as most of the tummy problems seem to be regarding diarrhoea (which i'm not too worried about as I know pedigree cats are partial to this), I think (I hope
) I have a slightly different query..
Coco is currently on antibiotics and has been for nearly 10 days now for a number of reasons - she is also on a veterinary approved dry food diet only (accompanied with plenty of fresh water) yet she has been very very gassy since the day I brought her home to the point that when she is sleeping on my lap I spend every other minute holding my nose because of the constant whiffs that suddenly emanate from 'down there'
The smell is also VERY strong and if she is in one room it usually 'wafts' into another and everyone gets a strong smell of it. I have mentioned this to the vet several times and he suggested I find a diet that would help her sensitive stomach (hence the special dry food) and failing that, try different high quality food types until I find one that settles her.
The advice is pretty obvious and should be straightforward, but with so many different brands on the market, the search could last months and just aggravate the problem. Naturally, I trust your advice more than the vets or any other online source as all of you have experience of cats and their sensitive bellies and many of you would have no doubt, come across this issue many a time before and found a food brand you swear by.
Any advice will be a welcome relief from these whiffy odours and thus greatly appreciated
(she says with a peg on her nose and an industrial strength air freshener at the ready!!
)
