Does this make my butt look fat?

Just wondering what you all think of Harrison's "ahem" weight. Do you think he is over weight or is this normal?He is 8 months old and pushing 12 pounds :lol:

He has been on Orijen his whole life. I think his previous owner let him free feed. Although to compare. Brahm is only 7 pounds and the same age. He is much bigger then Brahm tough, in length and height. He is a big boy all around. But should I be concerned with his weight? I have switched to feeding them a set amount 3 times per day. They get 1/2 hour to eat then it gets picked up until the next feeding.

I just weighed our 4 actually,
Hestia and Zeus are 4 1/2 they are: Z = 10lbs 2oz, H = 8lbs 6oz and the kittens, 6 months old M = 6lbs 4oz, and D = 7lbs 6oz.

I dont think Harrison is overweight at all, I like the leaner looking cat. ours are getting there, I think the stress of Hestia and Zeus moving they lost some weight and with Hestia's illness. but they are getting there. As long as they are eating their daily recommended you have nothing to worry about, I just found H and Z in the kitchen on the counter licking their lips, there isnt any pea and ham soup left in the pan.... :lol:

Had him at the vet today. He said he is a BIG boy, but not overweight :lol:

He did say he may get there if we let him eat too much so we will keep an eye on him.

I think the problem is I am surrounded by lightweights

Cleo my 9 year DSH is only 9 pounds, Sonny my tabby is 5 months and 5 pounds. Brahm is 8 months (same as Harrison) and he is 7 pounds. So Harrison weighing in at 12 pounds seems so huge compared to them :lol:

I actually prefer them on the big side.

Nah, he was all gray (very russian blue looking), and had 6 toes on the front paws, 5 on the rear... he was massive. My grandma had his brother, and he was the same way, all huge. These were stray kittens born in my grandma's garage, so maybe a stray cat mated with a wildcat of some type? I don't know.. .but he was an awesome cat and hunter... ate anything you gave him.

Sammie is vastly different, so it was weird at first because I was so disapointed that she wouldn't eat anything but her dry food and can't even hunt a small bug :lol:

hi this is Rani on the left, Mia on the right, he weighs the same as Harrison and we had him to the vet tonight and was told that he was getting too much to eat in a day. We have to give him only 2 pouches whiskas a day, I think i will put both my cats on raw meat diet

You know I think Harrison is perfect!

Keetah was at the Vet yesterday for his check up and was a shocking 12.7lbs and he's not even 7 months old yet. The Vet says he's on his way to being a portly sort if he continues on this destructive path LOL

Hi we have been giving Rani & Mia 2 pouches whiskas per day for this past week, advised by vet to only feed this amount per day. Rani is looking a bit better for it but it hasnt fazed Mia altho she could be doing with eating more in a day! She is like a wee skint rabbit. When i go toward the cupboard they both jump up quickly toward it to find im getting food for myself!! Rani meows then sits by his bowl, he looks pitiful but we are doing it for the best, got to be cruel to be kind. We take them to the vet for clipping claws in a fortnights time, so will weigh them then to see how he has got on. Unless he learns how to use the tin opener :lol:
