I have noticed a few times that Izzy will pant a little bit after a heavy play session (when we have her jumping around a lot and chasing fishing rod toys). She only ever pants a few breaths, and doesn't seem in any way worried or uncomfortable, but I'm not sure how normal this is for a 6 month old bengal. Neither of my moggies ever did this, but then neither of my moggies were ever as crazily energetic as Izzy is!!!

When she originally came to us she had a runny nose for a couple of weeks, but it was nothing serious and it cleared up on its own. My main concern is that we will be having her spayed soon and (sorry if I'm being ignorant/am totally wrong) but I'm sure I read somewhere that it is dangerous to anaesthetise an animal that has breathing problems.

Obviously I will mention this to the vet prior to her spay but just wondered if anyone had any opinions on it.

Me too!!

Da Bird totally overstimulates Sammie and she gets way too excited and will starting panting, nearly wheezing, but will still want to run around like crazy. So I get her to come up on the couch for a break until her breathing calms down, and then she's off like crazy again. First few times it really concerned me (I thought maybe it was an asthma attack, cat style) but now I just know to force her to take rest breaks.

I am so relieved its not just me! It seems they are all the same as well, they are clearly knackered but don't want to take a break!

So true. Now if I could only motivate myself to run around that hard... *sigh*
