My Kitten has been sick twice this week, the first was earlier in the week and it was literally just the chicken that she had eaten so i assumed it was just that she may have eaten it to fast, today she was sick and it was just clearish bile.

A bit concerned as she seems to have a bit of a swollen tummy which she has had since we got her last week so she will be made an appointment at the vets tomorrow as i am a bit worried about the FIP after reading about it.

Any advice or things i should be looking out for would be appreciated.

You're doing the right thing in taking her to the vet - try not to worry too much before then (easier said than done I know). There are lots of causes for vomiting which are much more likely than FIP.

Kittens often do look as if they've got swollen bellies, especially when they eat and they sometimes vomit if they eat a bit too quickly. Hopefully it'll turn out to be nothing more than an over-enthusiastic appetite but do mention your concern about FIP when you see the vet. I presume she's been wormed? Is she lively and playful?

Aww poor you, I know you must be really worried especially after what you went through with Freya. I know I am certainly a bit over-cautious with my cats since losing one so suddenly. I'm sure she will be perfectly fine though, and you are doing the right thing taking her to the vets. Let us know what they say! x

well done you on deceiding to go to the vets, but just to let you know that my Freya did the same 1 week, when she was about 4 months old. I deceided that if she threw up again i would take her, as she was acting otherwise normally i wasn't too concerned She bounced back with no issues and i never even got to the vet! Her tummy wasn't swollen though.
Good luck and keep us informed but i am sure there isn't anything to worry about.

She has never been very playful or anything since i have had her, which i find quite odd as most kittens are playful at this age, but i put it down to probably just getting used to the place. The most i have seen her play is chasing a bit of paper for a couple of seconds and thats it, oh and rolling on her back once for my other cat. She has only just in the last day or so started sitting on our knee for fuss so maybe she is still taking her time to adjust.

Yes i have a worming tablet ready here for her when my oh stops faffing with paperwork so we can give it to her, although the lady said she had been wormed and de-flead, otherwise i wouldnt be as worried as i would just worm her and see if that made any differance. She only went in for her vet check on tuesday and the vet didnt mention it then so i wasnt really worried, it was just when i read about the FIP that i started to think about it.

Hopefully i am just being over protective

Oh yes, just like children they tend to look a littel tubby and then they grow, II am still waiting to grow myself but at 48 it may not happen

Get her checked as planned and your mind will be at rest and we are here to help too
