Eye boogers and tears?

Well chats, at least we both have the problem

I cleaned Sammie's eye corners with an eye wipe yesterday and today it seems that they're not as big and gooey. But I don't know if that really made a difference... could be a coincidence.

my white moggie had eye boogys all the time and sometimes goopy too. It may just depend on the cat. not too sure tho!

well arent goopy eyes a sign of irritation? im pretty sure (if i recall my biology correctly) that the goop is a reaction to either infection, or just particles in the eyes (dust etc) it maybe that her eyes are just quite sensative and hence produce goop at lower levels of irritation than other kits?

Yeah I thought it may just be from Chats being so active and into everything that maybe it was just dust getting in them! They don't seem to bother him. Maybe he is just another "sloppy" boy that is too lazy to clean them!!!

I used to just wet a cotton ball with plain water and clean across the eye and wiping any goop off, she would be fine. the tip is always use a fresh cottonwool ball for each eye.

William gets them all the time - and he doesn't seem to clean them off either - i'm constantly picking at his eyes/nose, so much so that's he's got used to me doing it now. :lol:

Saffy always has very clean eyes, she's quite meticulous when she washes. :wink:

I wonder if it's down to the grooming habits?
