Something has happened to Elvis, his tail seems limb and he doesn´t seem able to control the last part of it wich just hangs there. almost in the middle of his tail he is swollen and a bit soar and after that the tail is limb. He can feel the tail if I touch it, but he can´t move it. I've spoken to the vets and we have an appointment tomorrow morning. I´m really worried about it, don´t like the looks of it at all

Could it be broken?

Oh dear poor Elvis. I dont know anything about his problem but good luck at the vets in the morning. Let us all know how he gets on.

It looks almost as if it's broken That was my first tought when I discovered it. He doesn't seem to be in any pain at least, except a bit tender where it's swollen. The vet. said there isn't much to do except amputation if it's broken and he is bothered by it, I really hope that won't be neccesary.

On an other forum somone told me about a cat who hade been in a fight where he got bitten in the tail, and that cat showed the same symptoms as Elvis does. That cat got drainage on the tail and is ok now. Hope it will be that easy for Elvis to, I'm really worried.

Awe poor guy! looks like it got caught in a door or something..

The thing is, we don't have any doors it could have got caught in. Since we have kittens we have put things in every doorway to keep the doors from causing accidents when the kittens are playing around them. The only explanation I can find is that he hurt the tail during a fight with his brother.

Awwe....maybe he got a puncture wound or something? hope it's not infected....
