Long time lurker here. One of my kitties (well, 3 year old now) has started producing little bundles of smelly joy outside the box. This doesn't happen every day, rather several times a week she'll need to poop and basically, she does it in three goes - box 1, box 2 five minutes later, box 3 five minutes later (and sometimes outside - on the cat wheel!) for iterations 2&3.

Anyway, this is in the vets hands now as I've taken the shotgun approach - zylkene, love and play therapy (as this started when I was away so it could be stress - and there are tensions with her sister), white food/bland diet when I can, fortiflora and now I will remove chicken, oh and stool tests of course. I know the pattern and I think she's doing it out of discomfort from her behaviour.

So, has anyone experienced anything similar? Would love to hear your experiences while I await next steps from the vet :-)

Hopefully, the bundles of joy are hard and formed and easy to pick up. Mushy poops are the worst!!! There is definitely a reason for this change in behavior. Naturally, a vet should be consulted when behavior changes like this. Testing of a stool sample can rule out a lot of things. Stress can also cause this. The key is to find the reason and fix it, although the tensions with the sister may not be easy. Good luck.

Unfortunately those which are nicely formed go in the box... She does leave the best for the end! #bleurg
