she's still barely eaten, am started to get really worried now. the breeder said she was a slow eater, but its not just slow its non-existant! she's not interested in the whiska's kitten pouches, cooked chicken, prawn, royal canin dry food or kitten milk. she was the runt of the litter and she is tiny so i'm worried she doesn;t have much reserves to survive on if she carries on like this! any ideas?!! she seems fairly settled in so i'm surprised if its just that. she seems to be just sleeping all the time now too!

please don't panic, as already said, the change of circumstances can take them a little while to adjust.
my first girl ate nothing for two days & had me worried, but she eventually came round to a little cat milk & after that seemed to trust that i wasn't trying to poison her or anything, then ate most things offered

you could try a bit of frozen white fish boiled for about 5 minutes until soft all the way through, mash it up small & check for bones. i find this tempts the finicky eaters as it's smelly lol.

she will come round soon i'm sure, especially as she has her brother with her too & she'll see that he's eating & probably copy him when her tummy gets the better of her.

Thanks for all your help everyone. Well, woke up this morning and shes a new cat! eating and drinking lots and running round the place. Phew!

Great news - she just needed time to settle and work out that her new surroundings weren't a threat to her. Now you can get on with enjoying your new babies.

hooray! that's great to hear...her rumbling tummy got the better of her lol!

Well, bad news again. Sita was sick last night and was very quiet and dosile all afternoon. Took her to the vets and they told me shes massively underweight for 10 weeks old, she only weighs 560g. I knew she was tiny but I thought it was just because she was the runt of the litter and she'd be ok. Anyway the vets given her some pro-kinin stuff to help thicken everything in her stomach and stop the diarrhea and vomiting and some worming tablets just incase. Also given us some special hills medication food which has probiotics in. Was pretty upset last night. Anyway this morning shes eaten lots, saying that the same thing happened yesterday but lets just hope its for good this time! She seems to be an incredibly fussy eater though, won't go near this hills food, eaten some chicken and rice though. I'll have to try some white fish later too and see if she'll eat that. I thought that her diarrhea was just because she was in a new house and because she had a typical sensitive bengal stomach but obviously maybe its a bit more than that. Anyway back to the vets on monday, fingers crossed.

Ahh - sorry to hear she's had a setback but it's good that she's getting the right medical attention. Bengals do seem to have sensitive tummies and she may be more prone to it because of her small stature. My two are very picky eaters but will always eat freshly cooked chicken or white fish so it's worth keeping trying to tempt her with those. The only kitten food I could get them both to eat consistently was the Nature's Menu kitten pouches (they wouldn't touch the Hills).

It's such a shame that you've had a difficult start with your new kitties but it's good that they've got themselves such a loving "slave". Keep us updated.
