hiya, i've not heard it but i'm sure someone here will have experience. i'd just like to say, fantastic news that they have a new home & i hope it works out for them

the soft carrier should help, & i also find with mine that they prefer to be on a lead & harness on my lap, rather than in a carrier...maybe they could try that & see if it's better for her?

I know it's great that they finally seem to have found a match. It sounds too good to be true, too. They're going into a two-story house with two cat-loving adults who have experience with Siamese cats but suddenly found themselves catless and have their hearts set on Bengals now to add that feline touch back to the house. They are aware that Katie is shy but are willing to give her the time she needs and want to keep them together. No kids or dogs to scare her. I've had a couple of almost-adoptions for Mr. Sue that would have left Katie with me, but in the end none of them worked out. I'm glad now that they didn't because it means they won't need to be separated. They've been together since birth and are really sweet together and complement each other perfectly. Sue certainly makes up for Katie's shyness by being a very affectionate lap cat once he gets comfortable with his surroundings.

I doubt that Katie would prefer to sit on someone's lap though. She took several weeks before she would allow me to pick her up and she still doesn't like to be held for long. Putting a harness on her is all but impossible. I got one on Mr. Sue for 10 minutes and he wasn't too thrilled either, but at least he tolerated it for a little while. I think putting one on Katie and asking her to sit tight on some stranger's lap for a two and a half hour car ride is pretty much out of the question.

Well, they're off to their new home. Katie took the loaded pill pocket eagerly, but I'm not sure it really worked. An hour later she still didn't show any change in behavior. But I got them into their carriers, even though it wasn't where they wanted to go. Katie immediately ran against and bounced off the front and back wall of her carrier, but since it was a soft carrier she couldn't hurt herself this time. I hope they'll settle into their new home and family soon.

awww i bet you'll miss them after so long with them. i hope they are happy in their new home
