My kitten just turned 8 months old ( he got neutered at 6 months and he was fine)
It's been 2 days and he wasn't his active self. He was lethargic, not drinking water and uninterested in playing with any of his toys. Went to the vet and physically she couldn't find anything wrong with him,she then did a complete blood test and everything came back normal and healthy. She kept touching his stomach and he meowed therefore she thought it was a pancriitis and did a blood test specifically for that. It came back negative and he also was healthy in his pancreas. She then gave him IV fluids even though he was not that dehydrated (because he never vomit or had diarrhea) and she also gave him an anti acid which seemed to help because the following day he was back to normal. Today he is pretty lethargic. Although he is very alert when I call his name or shake his toys he looks right at them but won't chase his toys like he normally does. He is going to the bathroom normally and eati a ton of canned food, even meows to give him more when he is hungry. I don't know what it could be? Are his hormones finally calming him down? Usually he is crazy and running everywhere, knocking things down and chasing me around the house and now ,none of that.
His third eye shows when he is asleep and turns up to look at me but then it goes away. He doesn't have a fever either

A cat who is lethargic has an issue! You said he did not drink water for two days -- did he eat? When a baby has no appetite, it's a sign that something is absolutely wrong and what bothers me is when a vet can't determine the problem and tries to prescribe something that may or may not help. Giving a cat fluids when the cat is not dehydrated is not something I recommend unless they want the kidneys to function better. Probably the fact that your kitty had not had any water in two days signified to the vet that fluids were needed.

The only way to determine if something is wrong is to go with more testing -- scans, which can be very expensive. There could be a slight obstruction somewhere in the digestive tract -- your baby may have swallowed something that can't quite make it through the digestive tract. Your kitty cried out in pain when touched in that area.

Know that your bengal is never going to slow down! So any time there is a change in behavior, you need to take notice and after 24 hours with no improvement, take the kitty to the vet. Based on your post and the fact that the kitty is still lethargic, something is wrong. Know that cats can go downhill extremely quickly past the point where they cannot be helped. Please do not let this happen to your baby. If it means going with additional, expensive testing, to eliminate other issues, it should be done.

Hope the little one feels better soon.

How is your kitty doing today? Is there an improvement?
