It defiantely works, if my babies have tap water they always get the runs.
People laugh at me for buying bottled water for them.

We ALWAYS boil the tap water before giving it to the cats. We generally always have a container of pre-boiled water sitting in the fridge ready to refill bowls and such.

Our cats love to drink from a fish bowl (the acidity of their saliva killed off all the fish, but things were pretty harmonious there for a while!!), and we clean the fish bowl completely once a week. On these days we always boil water and store it in soup pots and saucepans to cool down so that we have enough water ready for when the fish bowl is clean.

Have done things this way since our Australian Mist had giardia as a baby and stayed runny for 12 months. Haven't had any runny problems since except for the occasional bad reaction to food here or there (generally lasting one day). Boiling should kill off any bugs left in the water that existing chemical treatments don't get - and it's cheaper than bottled water!

i buy bulk from Lidl's have been doing so for about 3 years
they do a pack (8x2ltr) so 16 ltrs for about £1.40
have to say you really do notice the difference.
doesn't work overnight but after a couple of weeks the proof is in the pudding.

still get the odd bout of runniness, I think caused by weather when it goes really hot etc but 9/10 times poos to be proud of.
