Just received some horrible news on our 6 month old bengal. Ever since we got him at 3 months, he has had a terrible scab/dry nose, much like newcastle's bengal has in the pics below. The vet did a biopsy on it when we went and got him neutered this past week. Today she calls us and tells us that the lab got back to her and said that the results from the biopsy show that he very likely has FeLV and she wants to bring him back to do some more tests.
I'm freaking out a bit right now and am pretty confused. He was blood tested at 3 months for the disease when we got him and tested negative. We called his breeder today and she told us that none of her cats have FeLV or have ever had it. We have one other 4 year old cat, who has always been indoors and was tested and given the shot when he was young. How much at risk is he at right now? He has been living with our bengal for over 3 months now. I just pray to god that the next tests comeback negative and that the lab guy is wrong. The only real symptoms he has are the dry/crusty nose, loose stool, and is pretty small in size for his age.
Please say a prayer for our little Coco. I lost a dog at a young age not to long ago from a very rare disease as well. I'm not prepared to go thru that again..
Thanks
