My little 4-month old seems to have some tummy issues. He had some health issues a couple of weeks ago, and has bounced back really well, but he sometimes seems to not feel well after eating. He's a fantastic eater and is gaining weight. He has great energy, but probably once a day, after eating, he gets very quiet, goes down onto his haunches and makes little gargling and licking noises. He stays like this for a while, and he seems to not be contentedly digesting, and then it passes and he's fine. He doesn't throw up (though it seems like he's getting ready to), and it always passes. He really hates the car, and I worry that getting him to the vets will be more traumatic than anything else, so I thought I'd check here to see if any of you have had this happen with your Bengals.

Could it just be indigestion (he eats fast)? Should I try a probiotic for him? Or do you think I should get him into see his vet?

Hi Liz. Some kitties have digestive problems that can be helped through special food that is easily digestable! It doesn't matter how stressed out your kitty gets going to the vet, that is no excuse to not take him if he requires medical attention. I think dry food is harder to digest than wet food. A probiotic could help. I use one for my kitty. Something is obviously not settling in right with your kitty's tummy. And the sound and motion a cat make to vomit look extremely painful. I would look at what you're feeding your kitty. Right now the kitty should be on the same food the breeder fed him. A swift change in diet will cause these issues.

No dietary changes since we got him. He doesn't eat any dry food and isn't interested in treats. Both of my kittens eat a raw diet as that's what they were eating at the breeder (my other kitten has no digestive issues at all, so I'm assuming that the frozen raw food I purchase is fine). We get our food from a different provider than the breeder as we don't live in the same town as them.

Other than these little spells that last about 10 minutes, he's doing really well - I would absolutely take him to the vets if he wasn't doing well; I was just wondering if others here felt it was warranted. This has started up since he had a bad reaction to a booster vaccine (followed by an upper respiratory infection).

I'll try adding some probiotic to his food; hopefully this won't cause any more stomach upset.
