Hi everyone and this is my first post having just joined.
My Bengal boy is Maverick and he is my shadow.
He developed a small amount of blood in his left eye last Thursday and when I left him ,he was ok.
He had been outside playing in our enclosed area during the day.
I personally think that this is the result of a knock and after going to the vet it has reduced.

The vet has tested for all but we are waiting on some results from the laboratory which are tests for the nasties, this is worrying.

It just looks like my eye when I got poked in Karate and although looking not nice, it did heal.
I have prayed excessively and the wait is excruciating.

Any words of wisdom from some of you who have experienced the same?

Lee.

I have not experienced this issue with any of the kitties I've had, but it sounds like a blood vessel broke in the eye. Could have been caused by the kitty bumping into something. It can take several days for it to go away, unless there is something else going on causing the continuous bleeding. It should have clotted and the eye should just have that redness. You took him to the vet to be checked out. There are vets who specialize in ophthalmology. If this does not go away, you might want to seek a specialist. The important thing is that the vision in this eye is not diminished by the problem.

Thanks for your reply and i'm pleased to say that over the last few days the blood within the eye has reduced.
The vet has seen this and is confident that there is nothing more than this going on.
We are still awaiting the blood results though which, as you can appreciate, is not allowing us to fully relax.

Happy to hear the blooded area is reduced. I know waiting for test results is agonizing, but I don't honestly believe they will find anything serious! This sounds like a one time thing with a broken blood vessel (humans get this as well).
