That is so terribly sad, and I am so sorry for your poor friend

Years ago, one of our kittens nearly met the same fate. I used to have huge vertical blinds on the patio doors. A kitten had been playing with the bead chain at the bottom of the blinds. I was in another room, when I heard my youngest daughter screaming. I flew in to find the kitten with the beading tightly around her neck, obviously she wasn't moving and we thought the worst had happened. I cut the chain with scissors, and luckily apart from suffering from slight shock, the kitten was fine. Immediately afterwards, I found a ladder, and ripped those damn blinds down. So you see, accidents do happen, and that kitten obviously had a 'lucky' day. Your friend certainly shouldn't blame herself, bless her.

So sorry to hear about your friends little kitty.

It's always terribly sad when you lose a pet no matter how old they are.

I know it will be very hard for her & her family for some time.

Accidents do happen but hopefully now you have posted this info it won't happen to anyone else.

Thats terrible news, when Cliff was about 13 weeks he would love playing with a lanyard (the fabric cord you put around your car-keys) he would play around and get caught up in it, and once it was actually quite bad because he got himself tangled up around the neck and feet.. luckily i was there to untangle him. But if I wasnt there to save him.... I think something tragic could have happened. So after that I picked up everything he could get tangled up in, even my mobile phone charger because he played with the cord on that.

Hi - i just wanted to say thank you for all your kind thoughts & comments for my friend. I let her know what you all had to say & what i had done to let people know. Although still very upset she says if it can prevent this happening to anybody elses beloved pets thne at least her kitten has not died in vain.
