Hello fellow bengal lovers :)

I wonder if anyone has got experience with this:

I have an 18 month bengal with a really snotty nose. She has had this since we got her from the breeder, who told us it was just a reaction to her vaccine. Problem is it has never stopped. I've taken her to the vets numerous times (going there again tonight) to have her tested, get her on antibiotics etc. to see if there is something we can do to relieve her.

She is the most adorable girl, full of affection and play, and it just breaks my heart to see her so snotty all the time. She has A LOT of discharge coming from her nose - green, lumpy... you get the idea! So if anyone has any ideas/experience with this I would love to hear about it. Her snottiness varies in how bad it is, but it's always there.

Thank you!

Agnes x

Corona virus is my guess. Of youve tried antibiotics and such without any relief....you need to ask your vet to specifically test for corona virus. This is a life long virus, and CAN lead to FIP which is fatal. I just learned my breeders cattery is badly infected with a mutated strain of corona virus...my baby included. Im heartboken.

Just to add to this coronavirus is very common and only in a small minority will it mutate into FIP.

This should be something a vet can diagnose. One trip should do it! If they can't find out what is wrong, find another vet who can. Coronavirus has been a topic of discussion of late due to a couple of bengals being diagnosed with it. However, runny nose can be a sign of something else as well; however, difficulty breathing and nasal discharge, runny eyes are all symptoms of coronavirus, so I'd have the vet check for that. An upper respiratory infection should be easy to detect, if that's the problem -- but your kitty has been suffering for a very long time. You need to find out the cause.
