Just pick your moments, you don't have to do them all together....even if it's only one claw at a time.
If you declaw, then you're essentially cutting part of the toe away....imagine having all your finger tips cut off at the first joint just before the knuckle, sure you'd manage, but it's not going to be good and just think of the pain the cat must go through until it's all healed!
Every step would be total agony!
It's well and truely banned here in the uk...thank god!
Anyways wait till he's half asleep and mount a silent assault on one paw, or wait until he comes for a cuddle and he's totally relaxed. Try to do as many claws as you can manage before he wakes up fully, and then try again later or maybe the next day, I think wrapping him up in a towel again will just enforce a bad reaction every time.
We put down some tasty food to eat straight afterwards for our girl, just to give the glue time to dry....she has only pulled one off so I guess the plan worked!
She wears them at the moment because she's a menace...
If you still have problems you could also ask your vet to put them on the first time around, then you only have to replace the odd one that comes off.
Hope this helps...
