My sweet baby boy has been put to sleep.

The Vet was convinced it was FIP and saw no point in sending off samples as we would have had to wait at least 5 days for the results and he could have deteriorated quite rapidly in that time.

Now I have the job of trying to stop crying before picking my son up from school in an hour and also telling him when we get home that his baby has passed away.

I can't believe he's gone but I am relieved he didn't suffer too much

It's difficult to even know what to say. What a horrible tragedy. I'm really sorry this happened, and you and your family are in my thoughts (and have been for several days). And my cats will get a little extra affection today and not know why.

Debbie I'm so so so sorry.

I lost a cat to FIP and your vet is right about them deteriorating quickly. I spent a night at the emergency vet and then the next day with a specialist and the next morning he was sure it was FIP and it was clear that I had to let her go.

I'm sending *BIG HUGS* to you and your family.

Thank you all so much for your support it really has helped enormously with my grief at losing Dexter.

I feel like you have been with me on this long journey and I do take comfort that we really did do everything we possibly could and in the end there was really nothing more that we could do.

I miss him so much but know that he was probably a very sick kitten from the beginning. I believe that he was probably predisposed to having FIP, in his genes so to speak and I don't blame anyone, the breeder etc. Sometimes bad things just happen.

I'm not sure if or how long I will continue to be a member on here now that I have lost him although I do feel that I have got to know you and your lovely cats so well. I admire how much you all love and care for them.

I wish you all the best and Clare hope that everything goes well with Hendrix.

Take care of your precious babies everyone.

Debbie x

My heart is just breaking for you, I wish I really could reach out and give you a big hug.

I hope you do stay around, and maybe when the hurt has healed there will be another Bengal in your future.

I hope you stick around, as you are a very positive presence here. Even if you decide to just go with the one cat, there is still plenty to discuss and share and learn. Honestly most discussions here have nothing to do with bengals in particular anyway.

Oh Debbie, I'm so so sorry. My thoughts are with you during this hard time. xx
I faced the same tough decision last year with my eldest boy Nugget, and still miss him immensely to this day.

My heart is crying for you and your brave little man. It is such a shock when this happens, but Dexter has gone to Rainbows Bridge, and will wait there for you to come to him. He is fit and healthy and has no illness now, and will always be alive in your hearts. Stay strong, we are all here for you.

I am so very sorry.

I don't come on that often but I am well aware of your struggles with the little man. It's so hard to make that decision and make it at the right time for you all.... You can at least take comfort that you did the best for Dexter, which isn't always the best for us!

RIP little man....

Xxxxxx
