My 1 year old Marble begal, Layla, broke her femur 7/8 weeks ago, since her operation she's recovered very well and very quickly, but now I have a sickness problem.... She was sick from the Metacam they gave her so we stopped that quickly, she was sick less and less but still sick.... On Sunday she vomited blood, so I rushed her into the vets where they injected her and sent her away... She continued to be sick daily after that then on Wednesday Id had enough, she's lost a lot of weigh and was clearly very poorly! They kept her in on a drip and injections, got her home on Friday as the vet said she hadn't been sick there (obviously as she was being hydrated and injected!!) since I've got her home she's still being sick! I've called the vets but I'm so frustrated with them as they just take her in and send her back, each time I take her away from her uncle (massive 8KG Bengal) their relationship gets affected. He's very cross at her, hissing and growling, so I'm reluctant to keep taking her back! She's due an operation on Wednesday to have the pins removed that have been holding her bones in place, obviously she won't be having that anymore as she's just not well enough, but I don't know what to do.... Do I wait until Wednesday or take her before? She's ok in herself, just not holding much down. Help!!

Maybe she is in a lot of pain? Poor thing…There is an anti-nausea medication you can get from the vet. They can give an injection that lasts for a few days or they can give you pills which is about half the price and you can give them to her. It shuts off the nausea in the brain and works very well. Then at least she can eat. They also have an appetite stimulant pill but that can make the cat hyper. Good luck with the recuperation.

I would also worry about pain. Has she had any other pain relief since you stopped the Metacam? Did you give the Metacam with food as it is an NSAID so needs food in order to protect the gut...?

Sounds like a pretty painful procedure and recovery so i hope she has had alternate pain relief... none would be an indication for vomiting.

What food are you feeding? Maybe she needs something a bit bland like boiled chicken....

Also, does she have a uti? I ask because signs of a uti in babies is vomiting and i know the same can be true for cats.
