Do you want to take a risk of treating your TF pos.cat and then not the other, when after treatment he might caught it again sometime and you'd have to go through that all over again.. ?

I never said I wasn't going to treat my other cat. I was asking whether it was infectious or not. As it is clearly infectious then of course I would treat him. I'm not stupid.

Hi there. Thanks for that. Funnily enough I googled and read this yesterday. I'm going to print it off and take it to the vets with me along with the information you have all given me about limited side effects etc. I get the impression she's not keen on treating him but I think may be persuaded by some sensible discussions about it.

If we decide to go ahead with treatment Muskey will of course be treated too.

We will wait until the New Year though as we have family who live some distance from us which means us spending the odd night away from home so don't want to muck about with the medication plus I would rather wait until I can give it my full attention. Christmas is a hectic time of year with lots of distractions.

Many thanks.

Also, if you don't treat it you really should never bring in another cat (or dog) for as long as you have your two.... Just in case...

Hi yes, that's another reason we would want to get them treated.

Muskey is an OAP now and we have always had two cats. I guess we could just be a one cat household but the plan was always to get another kitten at some point.

We would of course never do this if we decided not to get the TF treatment.
