My 8 month old Blondie has been having health issues. I have taken her to two different vets and spent several hundred dollars even though she has health insurance with Trupanion at zero deductible. They exclude a lot and keep saying her diarea is pre existing because on her first visit both my cats had soft stool due to diet. I guess they will never cover anything remotely related to that. Can anyone recommend an insurance company that actually pays out rather than just collect premiums? I am ready to switch.
Blondie takes a new medication twice a day for a week or so to knock out her runny poo, plus she is back on probiotics. My vet didn't want to test for TF until trying this first since that is quite expensive and she said it is not all that common. My cats came from a rescue center that's why I keep asking the vet about TF. One is as healthy as a horse and the other with the bowel issues has a pretty bad eye allergy. The skin round the eyes turns bright pink and itches. She further aggravates it by rubbing and scratching her eyes. Then her eyes swell up, I have to use steroid drops and put the cone on. It seems to flare up when she goes outside on the screened in patio. I have also been suspicious of her food and changed it several times. I also switched to unscented cat litter.
I called Terminix yesterday to ask about the spray they use. They use a different spray outside from inside and I suspect Blondie is getting residue on her paws and fur and then lickining herself. Terminix says no there is nothing in their spray that could hurt her. I am not so sure. They come quarterly and in south Florida it is necessary. I am going to have them skip the patio next time and just have them spray outside where the cats don't have access. It could be pollen too. I am hoping Blondie grows out of her issues.
