I noticed Jagger's nose looked sore a couple of nights ago, just under the nose pad (if you know what I mean!). Today it looks a bit scabby and I've noticed a bit of skin peeling of his nose pad. Initially I thought he'd been scratched but he has never had a wet nose like Hendrix and the peeling bit has made me think it could be Bengal nose.

Is there anything anyone can recommend to put on his nose? I've put a bit of savlon on it so far.

Try to avoid Savlon, Clare - It has ingredients which may irritate or burn.
Use a gentler aqueous cream - cheaper as well! You could even smear a bit of Vaseline on!

I have no proof of the veracity of this, but I wouldn't put Savlon on a cat.

Thanks to both of you. I only put a tiny dab on and he's none the worse bit I won't be using it again having read the link, Elaine!

I'll take him to the vet if it doesn't get any better.

Our bengal gets bengal nose regularly. We treat her nose with vitamin E oil every 2-3 hours sometimes for 2-3 days and it always clears up.

Not a particular brand. Just one that is vitamin E oil. Yes, Margay licks it off quickly. I hold her mouth closed 10-15 seconds after I put it on so most is absorbed before she licks it off.
