Today we were heading out the door, and we noticed Sammie frantically pawing at the carpet like she was trying to cover something up. So we looked, and on some paper on the floor there was a mess of runny brown stuff with some chunks in it that looked like the pouch food I gave her last night. Sammie had put a plastic bag over the mess, too. My boyfriend sniffed it to see what it was, and it had no odor so we assumed she threw up.
So I get back from errands and I've been sitting here on the computer, when I noticed Sammie once again pawing at the floor. I go over and there's a small spot of runny brown stuff on the carpet. We have white carpet so I ran and got the cleaner quickly, and the mess came up no problem.
Now I am a bit confused... I didn't hear her making vomiting sounds... unless she did it when I stepped out for a few minutes. So is it diarrhea? It has no smell what so ever, but Sammie sure is stressing out about "covering" it up, even now after it's all cleaned up.
The only thing weird in her diet is a gave her a beef & rice pouch last night. Usually she'll have chicken, and for the past few weeks/month she's been getting Greenie treats. The mystery substance looks like the beef pouch... but then again, all wet cat food looks like diarrhea to me
Just a little worrisome, because we leave this coming Thursday for 2 weeks, and Sammie is staying home with a sitter, and I don't want her pooping/puking everywhere, and time is a bit tight. The vet is not open tomorrow either.
Any ideas while I wait for the vet on Monday?
