We have been having some issues with our little kitty Bella today.. She recently started to paw at her mouth almost as if she is scratching it or trying to get something out of her mouth.. nothing is lodged, no redness, but it is a cause for concern for me as I have not had an animal do this.. We are thinking it could be teething, but are wondering if anyone has had this issue as well and if we should take her to the vet asap? She is worrying me and I don't want it to get to the point that she stops eating or drinking (currently she is drinking but I have not seen her eat in a little while).

Hiya, yes teething is very possible if she is around that age...what you could do is get a tea towel soak it in water, knot it and pop it in the freezer and then when frozen give it to her to play with....chomping on that should help any discomfort..you can also get puppy teething toys which are good too....if no luck with those do take her for a check up though just to make sure.

She doesn't eat raw and could have got a bone particle lodged anywhere at all?

She eats raw food but our breeder suggested to buy it from the store which has all the nutrients in it for her, it is in small bite form and very soft

she has stopped doing it today, and I have still been researching this issue as it was very odd, I came across this site (not sure whether true or not) http://www.petsadviser.com/pet-health/k ... ing-teeth/ but this seems to be exactly what my Bella was doing yesterday! She is as playful as ever today, has not done this motion since.
