Mia's 1st visit to the vet

Poor Mia has had a rough day. Today she has her 1st vet visit. They found my baby girl has a severe case of ear mites, a yeast infection in her ears and after a fecal exam found she has round worms. I am a little upset with the breeder. I know things happen but a small case of ear mites is one thing but a severe case. I called her and she said she had not noticed her ears were dirty. That is one of the first things I noticed. I didn't say anything because I thought well maybe she didn't have time to clean her up before we got her. She also said there was no way she could have worms she had just had her wormed. I have been using my vet for years and he has never steered us wrong. She was also told me she was 6 mths. When I saw her the first time I knew she was that old. My vet confirmed that she could not be no more that 3 to 31/2 mths old.

I know I am prob overreacting. But when you buy a kitten from a breeder you just expect better care to be taken of the kitten you get. I live in Ms and the breeder lives in Ok. so I never got a chance to see Mia in person only through pics. I AM glad that other than that she is healthy. No major issues. Thank God! Anyway, thanks for letting me vent. Sorry so long.

naughty breeder! as a breeder myself, i would also expect breeders to take much better care of their kittens, i certainly do!!! that is not good, thankfully it's nothing too serious & can be easily cured with treatment, but you are quite right, she should never have been in that state in the first place.

I'm glad Mia is in a loving home where she can be cared for properly now.

Too many 'breeders' seem to want to cut corners, and there is certainly no excuse for a kitten to have worms!!

Health must always come first with kittens, and breeders should at least be honest with any health problems and keep the kitten back until the health issue has been rectified!
