Hey guys
It's been a little while, I hope y'all and your crazy balls of fluff are doing well.
So! Harley's had some issues with soft stools in the past, which seemed to inexplicably vanish the day before I started trying to collect samples. I've since kept some sample containers handy, and awaited the dreaded return of the symptom. Finally, this week, diarrhea struck. I've collected some samples over a couple days, and we have a vet appointment on Monday.
I've just had a very nasty thought though! One that makes me desperately hope all this diarrhea collecting hasn't been a waste of time, but worry that it just might have been. The day following his first bout of diarrhea, he came due for his worming meds. I didn't skip a beat or even stop to think that this might be a stupid stupid mistake. I wormed him as usual, using a Milbemax tab, and a drop of Revolution to the back of the neck.
TF is what I really want to have Harley tested for, immediately if not sooner. What I'm wondering is, if Harley is infected with TF, are the worming meds I've just given him going to muck up the test results? If so, what's the timeframe before I can start collecting samples again? I can't believe I was so thoughtless, I didn't think at all, my only thought process was "Oh great, worming time again... Let's see if we can get that tablet down his throat without losing an eye". I didn't even wonder if it might mess up the stool samples.
If anyone can offer any advice, it'd be hugely appreciated. Thanks guys.
x Rae
