Woohoo! Finally a positive post!
We came home from work and Widget was waiting at the door for us. He seemed slightly more confident than previous days. We said hello, made sure he was alright and then checked the house... no pee! We had a UV/blacklight torch turn up today which we ordered for checking round the house. No pee anywhere except in the trays. So hopefully he has been using the trays ok (perhaps tipping his pee in it from the basket helped?). He doesn't look or feel bloated at all so we're thinking he has actually used the trays instead of not using them at all. All of their food was gone from this morning too and Widget was keen to eat his food with his medicine in it. In fact, he had an extra helping of food later on too. So it looks like he's getting back on track with eating.
He seemed a lot more curious and inquisitive and followed me around a fair bit. Then he actually jumped on my bed with me and meowed for fuss and cuddles (of which he got LOADS haha). He had some fuss off my housemate too.
Then he had a mad five minutes and ran around (actually bounded around like he normally does) and jumped up the tree/on the furniture etc.
And THEN he wandered round the downstairs meowing his little head off. Not in pain or scared- just meowing to himself like he often did before all this kicked off.
I am so happy- especially when he trotted up to my bed, jumped up and had loads of fuss. I've missed that so much.
Unfortunately we're not able to get to the vets tomorrow as my car is still playing up and I don't have anyone to take us so I've had to rearrange the appointment. However, I'm feeling much more positive about things than I was the last couple of days. He's so much like his old self.
We're still keeping an eye on him and giving him his meds from the vet (cystaid) but this is the brightest and happiest he has been for a while.
Pixel is also doing fine. She's been fine with Widget running about this evening. We had one tiny hiss from her earlier but I think it was because Widget took her by surprise when he ran round the corner. So that's great too.
We're so happy that he's so much more like his old self today and obviously so much more relaxed. He's currently curled up in the armchair having a good snooze. Hopefully this behaviour will continue. I've got a long weekend now- no work 'til Tuesday. So I'll be able to keep a closer eye on him and give both of them lots of attention.
