Hi everyone.. I joined for advice.. My silver Bengal Benji turned 1 year old on February 6th. In January he got very sick with a 106 fever.. He wouldn't move, eat or go to the bathroom. I took him to the vet where they gave him fluids, and antibiotic.. They called it "fever of unknown origin".. A few days later, he was no better. took him back to vet, they changed his meds and gave him more fluids. A few days later, took him back for more fluids and he was finally getting better! after a week long battle, he was better thank goodness!! I was relieved but still had no answers as to why he got sick. WE tested him for giardia, TF, leukemia, aids, etc.. All negative.. Now on Monday I noticed he has a very runny eye.. After a few hours the glands in his neck were Huge and swollen. I took him to the vet and the vet said it is conjunctivitis.. They gave him an injectable antibiotic and eye drops.. Now 3 days later, his eye looks a little better but his glands are still sooo swollen and Giggly.. I don't understand why this would be or if there is another issue.. I am so tired of taking this poor 1 year old cat to the vet!! Right now he is eating and drinking.. Has anyone has this issue?? I have never had a cat get swollen glands like this before or a fever for so reason!

I had a "Feline Virus of Unknown Origin" spread through my cats earlier this winter. It was basically like the cats getting the flu one at a time. The meds the vet gave them worked after a few days, the fever dropped and they gave my cats some other stuff to make them hungry again. It all worked wonders, but then two of my cats also got conjunctovitis and had to have eye drops. Those worked as well after a few days, it just takes time.

Herpes is a possible reason your cat took longer to get better and seems to have lingering issues. Try Lysine powder on its food with every meal and keep up the meds. That should do the trick.

thank you rcolman18. It gets overwhelming when things keep happening and cant figure out why! its been 4 days since the meds started. Did your cat have swollen glands for a while?? his eyes are looking better today! hopefully he gets all better and there wont be any problems anytime soon!!
