Been a long time since I posted on here - but I need help!
My little Kasper has fleas. Now, we have tried;

A spot on treatment.
This didn't work, just pushed them to the base of his tail - so he had a tablet from the vets (major hard work).
He threw this up 2 hours later, the vet reccommended that we didn't use a tablet again as it may have upset his stomach.
The vet gave us a strong spot-on treatment and a house spray. We used both of these.
We have just this week tried another spot-on treatment.
I comb through his fur everyday (as much as a Bengal will let you) and find dirt and fleas (just hatched and adult) every single time. It's literally never ending and it's starting to really annoy me.

Does anyone have any other tips? I'm losing my mind!

I'm not sure what spray it was, it was one the vet gave us and they mentioned you only had to use it twice a year.
And I'm not sure what tablet it was either, I think it was just your regular vet flea tablet.

I've written an 'action plan' as sad as that sounds! Vigerous cleaning and I've found some remedies on the internet that I'm going to try. But it'd be more than helpful if anyone had some ideas that they have tried and found successful!

When I had a HUGE flea infestation with my old cat (sadly no longer here) I used Program flea treatment and I treated my whole flat with Indorex spray. The cheapest way is to buy online through one of the major pet companies. I have used Medicanimal several times with no problems.

Program does not kill fleas but needs to be used long term to interrupt the life cycle so you need to kill the fleas that are on him with something like this

You will also need to spray your entire house, carpets, skirting board, beds etc and the best (most efficient!) way is to remove Kaspar completely while you do it. If this is not possible then you need to do a room at a time but make sure you spray EVERYTHING! Read the instructions on the can before you start and depending on how big your house is you may need 2 cans to do it properly.

Oh, and give everywhere a good hoover before spraying as that seems to disturb them!

It IS possible to get rid of them but will take a bit of work on your part!

The white cat in my sig came to me as a kitten completely infested and he was too young and tiny to use any flea treatment on him. You can try a bathe with a teaspoon of lemon dish detergent. It will stun the fleas temporarily and you can comb or pick them out. Then rinse and dry. If you can bathe your cat, which I know is a task in of itself. Don't leave the soap on the cat, I am sure it can make them sick.

Always flush fleas/fur down the toilet. From what I understand fleas can jump pretty high (out of the garbage can or whatever).

In my experience, fleas will hide in the cats armpits and by their tail. The cats can't really reach either place. Once you deflea the host (the cat) and find a product that will not make the cat sick and be effective, the fleas should die/ find a new home, assuming you do some good cleaning.

Hi guys, thanks for the replies!

It's Indorex that we're using at the moment, or previously used. I don't think we were vigorous with cleaning the first time.
I have written an 'action plan'! We now hoover twice daily, the whole house, including beds! Lol

Today I have intense washed our current bedding, hoovered the mattress and spray the entire room with Indorex and Kasper is now not allowed in there. I've also been combing him two/three times a day - only finding one flea a day really - tomorrow I will be completely spray the house whilst he's out.

They do seem to usually be at the base of his back, however what confuses me is that when he scratches - it's always round his neck but I can never find any there! And as for in his armpit area, well I'm not allowed that close or he tries to play with it.

Hopefully if we're strict enough, they should be gone within a week - if not there is a powder that I've researched that we'll be purchasing!
