I'm just very curious. My outdoor cats always used to get fuller coats in winter and shed them in the spring.

Kai is my first Bengal AND my first indoor cat. From your experience, do bengals get a thicker winter coat? Also, Kai barely sheds at all. Should I expect some kind of seasonal heavy shedding?

I'm just curious and would love to hear from others about their experiences with their Bengals' fur. I know every cat is different but I'm curious if winter coats on indoor cats are common.

Mine does - it gets really thick and dense and then he starts shredding in about March time when it returns to the very slick and short velvet feel.

My bengal doesn't she stays silky, shiny n glittery not thicker although she doesn't leave the house too feel the cold., maybe thats why. She dose go a shade darker but only slightly :)

Mine both do. They're shedding like crrraaazzzy right now.
I have to wash my blankets weekly from all the hair.
Never quite seen anything like it before.

Hmm, I really haven't noticed that big a change in Gaga or Serafina's coat in the winter, and they certainly don't shed very much. The really hilarious thing is that Gaga in particular has this big, thick, ridiculously plush fur coat, and Neytiri has this really really short fur coat (it took some getting used to, at first it felt to me almost like I was petting flesh rather than fur), but of the two, Neytiri probably sheds 2 or 3 times more than Gaga. The bengals hardly shed at all, especially Serafina.
