Hey guys, so I have 2 bengal kittens. I got them both at about 8 weeks old, they're brother and sister, same litter - they absolutely adore each other. They were never without the other, always slept on top of each other, etc.
They are 5 months old so we just got them spayed and neutered. They spent about 8 hours at the vet, dropped off at 8 picked up at 4. We picked them up, put them both in the same carrying case as we always do, and took them home. All was fine, until we got home. We opened the case, let them out, and the male started hissing at the female. He has never ever done this - I've actually never seen either of them hiss at anyone or anything. They went their separate ways and relaxed, and the girl keeps trying to go cuddle with the boy, but he continues to hiss at her whenever she gets close. Is this just a scent issue? How long until it resolves itself? Is there anything I can do to help? She seems so sad that he is doing it, and keeps trying to follow him around, but he continues to hiss at her :(
Also, apparently they did a midline incision under her belly for the spay. I did not know there was a difference and after reading what I just did on this forum, would've requested a flank. What's done is done I suppose. She seems to be a little uncomfortable, walking a little weird on her hind legs, but walking okay. She did try to jump up on the toilet and then onto the sink because we let her drink from the faucet, but fell back when trying to jump on the toilet so I had to pick her up and help her. I'm freaking out a little bit about the stitches and I'm not sure what I should be looking out for, what I should do/not do. My vet said she can do everything that a normal house cat can do, but obviously she can't just yet.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
