We need your help again. You assisted us through the diagnosis of out two kittens on Corona Virus, Gardia and Salmonella. And your support was great and have us hope.
The kittens received a course of panacur and metronidazol (9 both) and they were fine throughout. No diarhea or anything. Another 10 days later - today, Merleau got a very high fever in the evening and we had to take her to hospital. She didn't eat or drink all day and was very lethargic.
We are very worried that it can be salmonella still active or something completely new. Her stomach is rambling and she is shaking, but that can be a post-hospital effect. They gave an anti-fever injection and we have to go to see our vet in the morning.

Did you have any experience with a fever hitting so late after the treatment?
What else can it be?

If you have her at home and she is shaking and not being herself, I would call back the hospital for a vets opinion...that doesn't sound good and she is a kitten. I have no experience with what you are describing, but I would rather check with a vet than have her become more ill.

Hi, sorry to hear Merleau is unwell again

The fever shouldn't be from the treatment no, normally a reaction is 24/48 hours after anything given so should have shown by now if its going to.

I think you may need to re test, the fever is happening because there is some kind of bacteria/virus that has not been 'fixed' by the treatment given. The shivering is just a symptom of the fever but am pleased you are back off to the vets this morning.

I think further examination and tests is what Merleau needs. Please do let us know an update x
