Hello friends. Thought I would share some advice. Last week maybe two my bengal has developed this rash under her chin. Took her to the vet today and the Vet said shes got feline acne.

So she gave me some acne fighting ointment for the cat with this advice...keep your cats water and food bowls clean.

I thought I was but like most people I would imagine for the dry food when its empty alot of times I will simply just add more. For there wet food I use separate bowls that I throw in the dish washer after they eat. Vet said that bowls are breeding grounds for bacteria and a cats chin is all in it. So now I am thoroughly washing with soap my cats water and food bowls everyday. Even the steel ones can harbor nasties. They do put there paws in it.

Who woulda thought? Oh well thought I would share that!

Mine got terrible cat-ne from a combination of their water fountain and corn allergy.
The dry food dust irritated their faces and the bacteria from the Drinkwell plastic water dish got in there and it was gross.
We strictly watch their food and I wash their stainless steel waterbowl daily.

Thanks for the response guys. She has a quick appointment on it tomorrow. I suspect from reading up its the fact that she was spayed 2 weeks ago. I am sure she is having massive hormonal changes and that can induce it. I also was not cleaning out the dry food bowl like I should of.

I feed the wet stuff in different dishes. I was just adding more dry food before bed only washing it out maybe once twice a week. So I think things are in order.

Its not serious feline acne. Just a odd rash under her chin. It does not seem to bother her as shes not scratching it.
