Sorry if this sounds a dumb question but how long into the 14 day treatment can I expect to see a change in poop/bloody mucus?

I ask because they've only had 2 capsules and when Rio did a poop a minute ago, it was solid and no bloody mucus. Until today, EVERY poop has had blood and mucus on it for the past couple of weeks. I'm wondering if it's a coincidence and one off or if the ronidazole can really start to work that quickly.

To say I'm thrilled is an understatement

Sazza85 - Rio was positive for TF (no surprise) and as Chilli has also had stinky diarrhoea (with occasional bloody mucus as well) the vet is more than happy to treat both.

Three capsules in just 11 to go

Good news is no diarrhoea with blood yesterday or today - just beautiful solid poops (can't believe I just called cat poop beautiful lol)

Breeder not interested - won't get ANY of her current 12 cats/kittens tested as she says they are not showing symptoms. I've given up trying to convince her (even arguing on the phone). My priority now is to get my two well. I belueve in karma and I'm sure it will come back and bite her on the arse big time soon

Hey - I'm glad the treatment is working - when I treated mine it was within 2 days that their poop was nice and solid and fragrant in comparison to what they had been pooping out.

Keep up the treatment right until the end.

Dont worry about the breeder too much. You did the right thing by telling her. I had the same with my breeder and its so sad that you know all the other little kittens and adult cats will probably all have TF too - but unless there is a body out there that will force them to do something about it there is very little we can do.

I just thought it was a fluke that it appeared to stop the diarrhoea within 24 hours as I have read somewhere I think that the diarrhoea should start to clear about half way through the 14 day treatment.

Anyway, apart from being scratched to hell by Rio when giving the capsule, it is all going well. Chilli is no problem whatsoever. I originally had hubby help but tbh he was a waste of space - about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike.

Anyway - yesterday I waited til he was sleepy (the kitten not hubby) and it was a quick open mouth pill in and job done. I'll be doing the same from now on - it's much easier when he's sleepy and not expecting it

Well the softly softly approach didn't work tonight. Think the bugger was sleeping with one eye open and knew what was coming. I had to towel him then youngest son held him while hubby opened his mouth and I put the capsule in :(

Not nice as he squeals his head off but thankfully it's quick and I can't get it in him any other way.
