Hello all! Ellie has been acting a little odd. Her kittens are now 7 weeks old and completely weaned. However, she's been acting weird. She's been extremely bloated, had diarrhea, and gassy, which when I took her to the vet the first time, Friday, she told me she was just really gassy and told me to put her on a probiotic. She's been on Forti-Flora. Her intestines felt full of gas she said. Well today, I came home and could not find her. Usually she comes running for food and meowing. After 30 minutes or so I found her lying in her carrier. She was just really listless. She wouldn't eat which is nothing like her. Her stomach wasn't bloated. She isn't the type of cat you can just hold and manipulate, and she was letting me hold her any way I wanted. I could tell she didn't feel well. I rushed her to the vet. Her temperature was normal. She put her on metriozole tablets twice a day and said to keep on the probiotic. She suggested she just doesn't feel well from the diarrhea and gas. Although I'm happy they didn't think it was an emergency as I did, I'm a little aggravated because I don't see how this is all that could be wrong since she is acting so out of the normal. If she gets worse or is no better I'm taking her back Thursday. I just know she doesn't feel well. She can't lay comfortably; she keeps trying to lay on her sides but can't for long and goes back to lying on her stomach. The only thing I could get her to drink was some hard food soaked in water. She is usually 99% soft food fed and turns her head up at hard food. She's meowing very often but it doesn't sound as though she's in pain. I'm just at a loss.
