After doing a lot of research we decided to put our two bengal babies onto a raw diet. They love it! I've never seen them clear a bowl so fast, which for them is very impressive! I used the recipe from the sticky thread on the nutrition page.
Since being on their new diet their poo is really dark, almost black. Is this normal? Is it just their tummies adjusting to lots of meat? I don't want to switch them onto a diet that's going to upset their tummies, thanks

yes normal. High protein low/no carbs equals firm poops and less of them and less smell some say also.
be extra vigilant to watch for illness as raw diet can hide a bug by firming up what would otherwise be a runny poop if poorly.
Id be interested to hear any other changes you observe like energy level and coat condition ect,

I know enough about raw diet to advice ensuring your mix is balanced to prevent any deficiency developing but I dont know enough to discuss recipes ect, you have researched all this which is good :)

Thank you :) Nice to know it's all normal, I will watch them a lot more tho to check for possible problems.
They have only been on it for a week so not a massive change yet, apart from the rear end! They are still completely mad, charging round the house at 100mph!

For those that like poop (lol) this is a good indication of colours of raw fed dogs poops - same would apply to cats im sure
