Could you please share your experience what do you use for flea treament and how do you manage to bring costs down per month without compromising quality

Internet suppliers sell Advocate/Stronghold for about £20/6, which is 3.33 per month ( prescrpt required) , my vet sells the same drug for 6.67 per month; or will sell 3 months prespr letter for another £26 which does not help with costing.

any way around this rip off from vets?

Short answer.... no.

It might be worth talking to other vets in your area about it. They may not want to write up a prescription without seeing them though.

I know that Frontline has been losing its efficacy lately along with all the other people using the same key ingredient.

I actually do not treat mine every month. I do it every 6-8 weeks in the summer but not necessarily routinely.

Can you just get a prescription from your vet and scan it in to order online?

My advice would be this.........Do you have a problem with fleas? if not I would reduce what you are doing and change to panacur to worm - you can do this every 3 months, and then in between time just pop a spot on.
